Ideal for that accessory that you require fit both a cigarette socket AND a Merit ( Hella) type socket . Instead of carrying an adapter lead or having some type of twin lead arrangement coming out of any 12/24 volt device you can  simply fit the 82110 plug to the lead from the device and interchange the end of the plug from merit to cigarette vise versa !!
Changing from one to the other is as simple as sliding the red end tip on and off .
